Worthing, Findon and Cissbury Ring

Two Sand Martins low east over the garden first thing were my first of the year and a Blackcap was singing.

A short seawatch from the end of Grand Avenue produced 23 Whimbrel, four Shovelers, two Shelducks, 30 Sandwich Terns, a Gannet, 19 Mediterranean Gulls and a Swallow, while 18 Linnets flew east along the beach.

Two Firecrests were singing in Findon as I passed through, with a Yellowhammer there too.

There were very few migrants at Cissbury Ring but I logged two Mistle Thrushes, a Willow Warbler, five Whitethroats, three Stonechats, five Yellowhammers, three Meadow Pipits, a male Kestrel and a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
