It was miserable weather at Canons and my walk 'only' produced the 12th and 13th
Whinchats of the autumn for the site. After getting Linda M onto the birds I bailed out and headed to Beddington to join Dodge, Swifty and Prof in the hide for a bit. A couple of
Grey Wagtails flew over and two
Cetti's Warbler had found their voices again but the most exciting moment came when watching a
Hobby clock something above it, ascend and then effortlessly pluck a
Swift (one of three) from the sky after a short and merciless pursuit. Duck counts included 40
Teal and 43
Shoveler, while 22
Lapwings were counted.
