Visibility was abysmal today, hampering any seawatching or low tide wader counts but the high tide roost field at Goring Gap featured unusual visits from an adult
Kittiwake and a
Snipe, along with five
Mediterranean Gulls, 460
Dunlin, 24
Grey Plovers, 58
Ringed Plovers and seven
Sanderlings. Other sightings there included the
Treecreeper, a
Mistle Thrush, the regular pair of
Stonechats, three
Skylarks, seven
Redwings, a
Green Woodpecker, a
Great Spotted Woodpecker and small numbers of
Oystercatchers and
Turnstones. When the mist lifted a little, a brief scan of the sea revealed just a pair of
Red-breasted Mergansers.
At Ferring Rife, sightings included a

Little Egrets, a
Snipe, 60

Kestrel, a
