A gentle start to our Spurn trip saw David Darrell-Lambert and I have a quick seawatch, though we saw little other than two
Red-throated Divers and a
Guillemot in half an hour. Kilnsea Wetlands and Beacon Ponds were very quiet, with the tide way out, but over 500
Teal and 100
Wigeon were present, along with three
Knot, a
Snipe and an
Avocet.
Tree Sparrows were in the obs garden. No serious birding really, just settling in. A walk down The Point is planned for tomorrow.
