Feeling I was overdue a visit to Goring Gap, but not having much time, I gave it about an hour first thing this morning. There were not many birds on the beach, and there was very little going on offshore. The beach held a

Grey Plovers, 44
Dunlin, 48
Sanderlings, 24
Turnstones, seven
Oystercatchers and an adult
Mediterranean Gull. On the sea were two
Red-breasted Mergansers.
