Lockdown birding from the garden wasn't so bad this morning. I caught a female
Firecrest and a
Goldfinch, both new ringing species for the garden. Sightings included a male
Blackcap, a
Coal Tit and two
Jackdaws and a
Rook overhead.
Ingrid and I have worked on moving and overhauling the bird feeding station to a position that I now feel will eventually draw birds in; we've done away with the metal pole and have constructed a feeding station made out of driftwood straight from the shores of Loch Tay. What bird could resist? Well, currently everything other than
Collared Doves and
Herring Gulls, but that's already a huge improvement on the previous setup.
