Goring Gap and Ferring Rife

Highlights at Goring Gap this morning included three flyover Yellow Wagtails, a Whimbrel, a singing Reed Warbler, 14 Sanderlings, 22 Turnstones, two Mediterranean Gulls, a Sparrowhawk, 24 Great Black-backed Gulls and three Sandwich Terns.

At Ferring Rife, a bright male Yellow Wagtail was only my second on the deck locally this year. A Red Kite was viewable towards Highdown. At least six Great Crested Grebes were offshore, along with a Common Tern, four Sandwich Terns and four Gannets. Other observations included two Whimbrel, four Reed Warblers, a Lesser Whitethroat, two Swifts, four Oystercatchers, a Mediterranean Gull, a Little Egret, a Grey Heron, an adult male Kestrel, a Reed Bunting, a singing Goldcrest and seven Moorhens.
