My first ringing session for months, with Val and Pete, was rewarded with a gorgeous Nightingale in the nets; the first that I've actually laid eyes on locally. Five Willow Warblers were also caught, several Crossbills and two Meadow Pipits flew over, a Raven was seen in the distance and the walk back to the car park produced a male Wheatear.
At home, a Sparrowhawk flew over the garden and the usual two Peregrines were nearby.
