A productive first day of the year at the patch, where I teamed up with Paul G and Ian M, was headlined by three adult
Great Black-backed Gulls (perhaps a site record?). A
Lesser Redpoll was also nice and a fly-over
Grey Heron was the first I'd seen there in a while. It was also encouraging to see the
Yellowhammer count rise, as it often does at this stage in winter, to 21.
